![]() ![]() One thing that is bugging me a bit is this thing Steven has going where he is recruiting gems by saying, "Hey look how cool the Earth is, it's great here, you should be on Earth's side instead of Homeworld's." I am of two minds on this. Posted by Mr.Encyclopedia at 8:22 AM on May 20, 2016 I can see Lapis and Peridot settling their differences, but Jasper? If Jasper is ever getting redeemed it'll be interesting to see how. I think if you're fighting for a planet then it pays to have a Gem who can turn 70% of that planet into Fuck You. I wonder if she was ever approached by recruiters during the war. Rose's bubble protected Garnet and Pearl, everyone else that was directly exposed were corrupted into monsters. Shattering robonoids are similar to the Breaking Point created by Bismuth as they are both capable of shattering Gems however, the Breaking Point uses physical force to shatter Gems while shattering robonoids use energy beams.Lapis' story is pretty convenient in that she wasn't directly involved in the war and didn't have a beef with the Crystal Gems but still has reasons to hate them since she was mistaken for one, imprisoned, left, and then found by Pearl who didn't care enough to see if a living sentient Gem was inside that mirror.Īlso her story indicates the Homeworld gems were in full retreat at the end, which supports the theory that the diamonds unleashed some kind of super weapon on the Crystal Gems as a spiteful final blow. While the robonoids can scan a gemstone behind Steven's shield, the shield is reflective of their laser beams. They are unable to detect and consequently purposely destroy an object lacking a gem, thus with some cover - be it a structure or an organic life form - a Gem can escape detection. This suggests that they are only deployed in areas where no normal Gem activity is conducted. Shattering robonoids do not appear to discriminate between gemstones they scan, attacking all Gems they detect.Lars stabs the last robonoid in the eye, detonating the drone and dying from the ensuing explosion.Įven more drones pass by the cavern the Off Colors have taken refuge in, so Steven, with the help of Rhodonite and the Rutiles, blocks the entrance to the cavern with a large rock. Eventually, Lars destroys two of the robonoids with Steven's help. Right as they scan the Rutile Twins, Lars attacks them by hitting them with a rock. The robonoid scans Lars and Steven, Steven's gem starts to glow, and the robonoid attempts to shatter his gem with its beam.Īfter Steven and Lars escape, three robonoids manage to find Steven, Lars, and the Off Colors. They are immediately discovered by a shattering robonoid. Also, shattering robonoids cannot scan through objects, as seen when they could not detect Rhodonite's gemstones after Lars shielded her with his body.Īfter escaping Yellow and Blue Diamond, Steven and Lars find themselves in an abandoned Kindergarten. ![]() If the robonoid does not sense a gemstone, the robonoid does not attack and moves on. If the robonoid senses a gemstone, it fires a blue-white laser powerful enough to shatter the Gem in a single shot. It does this by first actively scanning the environment for gemstones. The shattering robonoids are used for shattering Gems, hence the name. Unlike the other robonoids, the shattering robonoid does not have any legs, but floats around to more easily navigate and scan the environment. The base consists of a hemispherical shape with a red pattern that serves as the front of the robot. The shattering robonoid is small, tan, and cone-shaped. ![]()
